How to Join a Group or Clan in Destiny

How to Join a Group or Clan in Destiny

What does “Turn your Group into a unified fighting force” in the Clan Features image above even mean? Joining or creating a clan in Destiny is one of the most confusing procedures I have run into with a MMORPG. Farming an Emperium in Ragnarok Online, getting 10 other members to sign a ledger in World of Warcraft, or seeking out the NPC for a Linkshell in Final Fantasy XI were cakewalks compared to figuring Bungie’s system out for Destiny. A lot of trial and error went into making the DREAMPIECE Group/Clan (which are two different entities by the way…) and I don’t remember most of it. However, in the efforts to get our gaming group together as one I have put together the following tutorial on how to join a Clan in Destiny.

We start out by visiting Bungie’s awesome website:

1. Create a account if you don’t have one already. I used my Playstation Network to tie into my registration.

2. After you are all registered find the Group icon on the far left side to access the Clans and Groups page:

3. Search for DREAMPIECE or your desired Clan/Group using the magnifying glass on the top right corner

4. Click on DREAMPIECE or your desired Clan/Group and it will take you to the Clan/Group page. Now click the slightly hidden “Request Join” button and await for confirmation from an Administrator.

5. Upon acceptance, you are now officially a member of the DREAMPIECE Group! Yes, notice I said Group and NOT Clan… that is because Groups and Clans are NOT the same. A Group is just a forum or gathering of the web peoples… much like this very website. What you really want to do now is to actually set DREAMPIECE as your Clan! Depending on what console platform you are playing on you may see a “Set Xbox Live Clan” or a “Set as Playstation Clan“. Do this and you will finally be a part of DREAMPIECE’s Destiny Clan in game and have your shiny Clan tag in game.

Now enjoy yourself in game and flaunt your tag and be a proud Guardian of DREAMPIECE!

If you have questions, problems, or suggestions on anything related to joining/making a Group or Clan feel free to leave them in the comments below!

      Hey Colin,

Sorry was in Japan for 2 weeks and didn’t see this. I believe you can find it on site. If you are on the clan page, go and set it as Playstation(or Xbox) Clan in the left side of the clan banner. Hope this helps!
